Just came across Paul Braddock’s blog this morning. Paul works for the British Council in Barcelona, and has a keen interest in teacher development.
The whole blog is well worth reading, but I’d especially like to draw the attention of TDSIG members to two items. The first is an article entitled “Teacher-led Professional Development“, in which Paul puts forward 6 great ideas for improving your in-house teacher development programme.
Paul uses a platform called “Posterous” to upload audio files, amongst which you can also find his 7-minute interview on the topic of professional development for teachers.
Keep up the good work, Paul, and see you around BCN.
Hi Mark – Thanks for mentioning this post and my blog in general on the tdsig blog. The process I described in this post seems to be working well again this year and we have various ongoing training groups at the moment. Are you based in barcelona then?
Cheers,
Paul
Hi Paul,
You’re welcome for the mention. Glad to hear the training groups are going well.
You have to have your first comment approved before it appears on the blog, but after that, you can comment away to your heart’s content – and please do.
I’m actually based in Sabadell, just outside BCN. We’ll be holding an event in BCN in May next year – make sure you come along.
More details to follow.
Cheers
Hi Mark – I seem to be having trouble leaving a comment. Hopefully this one will work. Thank you for mentioning this post on the TDSIG blog. Are you based in Bacelona?
Hi Mark – I’m in Sant Cugat, so just down the road from you. Definitely be interested in coming to the event in May next year, but may well see you at IATEFL in April if you’re going to be there.
cheers
Paul
We’re virtually neighbours, then. Won’t be going to Brighton, but hopefully we’ll cross paths before then.
Cheers
Hi Mark – not sure if you’re on twitter, but there’s a barcelona tweet-up on Monday night if you’re interested
cheers
Paul
I’m markcbain on Twitter. Can you give more details about the Barcelona tweet-up? Is it a general thing? Or specifically TEFL and/or teacher development related? Would it be something our readers might be interested in? And is it just for folk in the BCN area?
Hi Mark – just started following you on Twitter (I’m bcnpaul1)- it’s more of a real-life social gathering really. graham stanley’s organised it and I think Jamie Keddie’s coming, as is Kyle Mawer, possibly Gavin Dudeney, Nicky Hockly and maybe a few others. It’s in a bodega near gracia station probably around 9pm.
cheers
